Acupuncture for headache, other pain conditions – by Harvard Health Blog

Acupuncture for headache

by Harvard Health Blog

Acupuncture may not be for every person, or every condition, but it is worth consideration. This is a nice review by the Harvard Health Blog and provides some good information.

Acupuncture is a system of medicine that is thousands of years old and from a very different culture. It utilizes concepts, terminology, and an approach that is different than many are used to in Western Medicine. For that reason, it can be difficult to design studies to analyze it well and in context. To complicate matters, different practitioners have different skill levels, and there are different types and approaches to the practice. It thought to be more wholistic in it’s approach, looking at balance and the flow of energy (or “Qi”) throughout the body, and often incorporates diet and exercise, as well as herbal medicine. Here at Wellscape Direct MD, I am happy to provide more information as well as guidance in finding a practitioner!
